Our Funding

Our work is funded in a variety of ways - see below for details.

As a registered charity (no 1036478), a large proportion of our funding comes through donations from individuals and churches who support our work. We have a core committed group of supporters who give regularly (monthly, quarterly or annually) to us - they are our Diamond Givers and Diamond Churches - click to find out more. Other individuals and churches choose to give one-off donations rather than commit to regular giving - more information about one-off gifts is available alongside information on regular giving, here. Individuals who donate to us and are tax-payers can, of course, sign a declaration enabling us to claim Gift Aid on their donation from the government.

We receive some funding in the form of relatively small grants from funding bodies - applying for grants is a time-consuming process and we are grateful to our funders, including 2:28, The Anchor Foundation, The Yorkshire Baptist Association, The Craig Charity for Children and
The Fred Towler Charity Trust.

A small number of schools decide they would like to pay for the services we offer, including some assemblies, workshops & lessons, the Re:percussion Project, and Refugee VoicesHowever, the vast majority of what we do is offered free at the point of use and is not paid for. This is a founding principle of the Trust, enabling us to take light into dark corners regardless of ability to pay.

We have several online fundraising initiatives, enabling our supporters to raise money while they shop and search online - find out more here. We hold a number of fundraising events throughout the year, which have recently included a fashion show and fundraising dinner parties - find out more here
