How the Prince of Glory came to live on the earth
Come and listen to the word
That the shepherds heard of Emmanuel’s birth
Come under a starry sky,
Hear the baby cry in the animals’ shed.
Come and leave your cares behind,
Like the shepherds find what the angels had said.
He’s Emmanuel, God with us.
He’s Emmanuel, God with us.
Like the prophets foretold all those years before
When they said that the Prince of Peace would be born;
Hear the angels’ song of the saviour’s birth,
And the promise at last of peace on earth.
Come now like the shepherds bring
Your best offering to the Lord of all.
“Come, now peace is mine to give,
I’ve lived like you live.” Hear Emmanuel call.
