These pages contain my thoughts, illustrated by photographs by the team and the lyrics of my new songs. Christian Aid sends "supporters tours" out to the places where their funds go so that people can see the work their partners are doing, come back to the UK and talk to as many people as possible about why Christian Aid is a key worker in the country we have visited. When I was asked to go, I said "Yes." Then I looked at the atlas. That's a long way for a man with legs the length of mine. Then I thought about the financial cost. A group of determined swimmers took over the university pool having extracted promises from friends, neighbours and colleagues to sponsor them by the length, with all proceeds going to the "Send Froudy Away (and bring him back if we raise enough money)" Fund. The target of £1000 requested by Christian Aid was met from that one afternoon's swim, and these pages are dedicated to those brave swimmers and to Sheena for letting me go without her. |

Transport in the Philippines is exciting, if not entirely reassuringly safe!
